While in NY - Sienna's Party

My Mother-in-law threw Sienna a party for everyone in the family to meet her at once, since it was impossible for us to visit everyone separately during our short visit

I felt silly and a bit crazy...but I was particular about who held her at the party... I just really didn't want her passed around, there were so many people there and I was squirming every time someone new got a hold of her.

besides our families, the whole block was also there and nothing against the nice neighbors but how do I know if you're sick, if you've had a few drinks, if you're clumsy...If I don't know you THAT well I don't really trust you with my baby...harsh? crazy? perhaps, but that's my mama bear instincts talking.

Her Grandma got her this adorable outfit for the party 

and it happened to match the dress I wore almost exactly

This was also the day Sienna started to sit up on her own and said her first word!

It was a lovely party,

 we ended up with a ton of very unexpected gifts that we had to return most of due to the lack of space in our already full suitcases...we took whatever we could, left some for my Dad to take when he visits and the large stuff such as toys had to be brought back.

While in NY - like the old days...

When Dan & I were still dating, 

our summer evenings consisted of going to the beach almost everyday just to catch the sunset

I remember walking on the boardwalk hand in hand, usually wearing his sweatshirt...talking about our life together and our future plans

Being back in NY last week and doing that again but with our daughter made those memories that much sweeter

Seeing these two together...melts me

There is a special Daddy-Daughter bond there that I just cannot touch 

it makes my heart happy

again. and again. and again.

So can you guess what her 1st word was?

she was a Daddy's girl from day one ♥

we're back!

We are back from NY, we had a wonderful time

my tummy is still crazy stuffed from my mamas cooking

Sienna was such a trooper

she was such a good travel companion

we took lots of pictures ( of course we did)

and I'll be sharing them along with details of our trip

now, its time to unpack, give the pup some love

and try to cure this jetlag

We made it!

Sienna did great on the plane and is currently getting smothered with love and kisses from our families :)

I have a bunch of baby travel tips that I'll have to share another time and I'll try to pop in here and there and post now that I got the blog app.

Anxiety over travels

With our upcoming trip to NY,
I've been stressing trying to get everything together to make sure its all smooth sailing. 

I pray Sienna sleeps the whole flight, 
I really don't want a plane full of people mad at us if she doesn't

I have to say, I was never afraid to fly until now

don't get me started on packing,

 the breast pump, parts & bottles need a suitcase of their own and
with the amount of stuff we have to bring, 

 we need an extra set of hands to carry it all

Charlie has really bad separation anxiety and although hes staying with my sister, 
I know he will be sad and mopey...my poor pup, this makes my heart hurt.

Security people please be nice, I'll be bringing bottled breast milk with me in case she doesn't want to nurse...if they take it away - I'll have a  fit.

I'm just really nervous, its a long flight.
