A couple of days before the party I had a meltdown, the weather showed rain & cool temp. 50 people, 9 tollders in my house? wasnt happening..then it went to sunny, then back to rain. I was loosing my mind checking it every 5 mins. Siennas outfit wasnt made for 50 degrees and I had bough a specific dress for the occasion and I wasnt able to wear. Then Jesse, my music guy wasnt able to get off work...now I know these things arent the end of the world but they were to me. I guess once you set expecations its a huge bummer if something you really wanted doesnt pan out...but wait, there is more.
Sienna's nose seemed like it was runny, GREAT?! getting sick for the first time ever a day before her party? all I needed. Luckily, it only lasted a couple of hours then completely went away...but seriously? all that was enough to make me wanna call it quits on this whole thing. I was telling Danny that maybe we should expect an earthquake to at this rate. Thankfully everything fell into place...sun came out..there was no rain and everyone had a great time.
I have a little concerned thinking Sienna would be super freaked out and overwhelmed by everyone but she did great- wasnt shy at all...danced, ran around with her baby friends and had fun and that was enough to make it all worth it.
I have to say, I'm glad we had a photographer at the party because I hardly had time to breathe and there is no way I could have gotten a bunch of good pictures of this fablous day. She sure captured some sweet moments for Sienna to have to look back on one day :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I love this party---everything turned out so cute! My oldest daughter had a "you are my sunshine" birthday for her 3rd birthday last year :-)
ReplyDeleteI know this post is very old, but I am doing the same thing with the months on the fireplace mantle. I was wondering where you got the mini clothes pins and what you used to hang them on, is it ribbon? I have twine but not sure how well that's going to hold up. Thanks! Such a cute theme and idea hopefully my party turns out half as good as yours did :)
