1. If we were having coffee.. I would tell you that I had a pretty crummy week and I'm down in the dumps. Please tell me a joke? Tell me a funny story?
2. If we were having coffee... I would tell you that I'm madly in love with the girl below, shes the sweetest most caring little girl. This picture sums her up quite perfectly.
3. If we were having coffee...I would tell you that I've been experimenting with a lot of new healthy recipes lately that I will be sharing with you guys soon. One of them being avocado popsicles that Sienna goes nuts for!
4. If we were having coffee...I would tell you that I have a new IG account, acup_of_jo - due to recent events, I've pretty weary of who I accept so please dont be offended, but I would love a lot of you back :) ....I've gotten dozens emails from sweet long time followers of my previous account - thank you all for checking to see if we were ok.
5. If we were having coffee... I would tell you that this pregnancy is kicking my butt, remind me not to avoid a summer due date with our next babe. The heat....chasing a toddler...getting larger by the day means a grouchy mama most days...but I'm trying hard to look at the bright side and count down the weeks till we get to meet our sweet little Emmie
We are very ready for Easter over here, the house smells of baked goods and I'm ready to rid of all the chocolates haunting me everywhere I go.
I keep our Easter very traditional and very much like what I've known growing up.
No Easter bunnies bringing eggs or gifts over here
Easter the Polish way... bringing a basket of symbolic food to church to be blessed and eaten Sunday morning. Sienna enjoyed it much more this year than last as she understood more and got to decorate the eggs we brought to be blessed. Her big cousin came along too which was a big perk for her as well :)
So on that note,
Happy Easter from my little bunny...to you & yours.
Sadly but truthfully, we tend to forget some of the sweet memories and phrases that spring forth from the little sunshine you bring us throughout the day. So I've been writing some here. They are sealed tight in our online time capsule, waiting for you to one day take a peak and giggle.
You like to sit on the countertop while I make breakfast, as I was tilting a pan, melting a glob of butter said "the butter is ice skating!"
Whenever you drop a piece of your snack outside, you don't pick it up, instead you say "its ok the birdies will eat it"
"mommy, are you pee pee-ing like Sienna?" now that you're potty trained you think its neat that everyone pee pees 'like you'
When we ask you if you'd like a certain something you eat, you usually respond with "no, can I have ____ instead?" and that instead thing is usually chocolate, your grandparents spoiled you when they were visiting last week
Anything thats broken, according to you always needs batteries. Your kiddie pool defleated the other day so naturally you say "I think it needs new batteries"
Your mamas favorite Pandora station 'Golden Oldies' must be rubbing off on you because the other day...out of no where you start singing "shimmy shimmy koko bop" we just about died of laughter...it was so random and hilarious.
Maternity clothes: Maxi dress season is upon us & it is glorious, but other than a belly band for those shorts that don't button anymore
Stretch marks: No. Bio oil every night - hoping it does the trick again.
Belly button in or out: Out (and made an appearance in this week's picture apparently)
Sleep: Sleeping great, surprisingly.
Best moment this week: Sienna asking me to tell baby sister to come out so she can play with her
Miss anything: cocktails on much 'needed' long days with a hyper toddler. Water with dinner just doesn't sound as good as a mojito would :)
Movement: Lots, even painful at times....and I here I was hoping she would be more "chill" than her sister. Sounds like I'm in for it!
Cravings: Chips and salsa, pretty sure thats exactly what I craved while pregnant with Sienna.
Thoughts/concerns: Baby is measuring ahead and it makes me quite nervous and not very hopeful for my planned vbac. How does a tiny 4'11 mama like me have big babies?
Hubby & I had a wonderful birthday. Nothing over the top, nothing extravagant, nothing fancy but a family day of happiness and love. Exactly how I envisioned a birthday should be.
best part?
we found out that baby #2 is a GIRL!!
Let the matching begin :)
...and next year? At our birthday? There will be two little girls we get to love on.
I can go into the how's and why's of time. That it flies by. And it does. But the truth is, these past two years have been nothing but fulfilling in the very best ways. You make our lives happier. Fuller. Brighter. Sillier.
7 months old
I have watched you go from a tiny needy newborn, to an independent, determined, self-assured little girl who has her mind made up about absolutely everything.
Life...it seems, is one wild adventure and you sure know how to make the most of it. I am eagerly leaning this from you with each passing day. Lately, you have been concentrating deeply when doing many randomly cute things that you do, such as trying to ride your tricycle, you barely reach the pedals but you try oh so hard to with the tips of your toes.
Your language development has been astounding. Each day you amaze us with some new phrase that we wonder where you picked up. Your passion for books and reading is evidently helping, and so has introducing you to the library...its one of your favorite places to go and browse. We let you pick 5 books that you request to be read before bed each night.
guess what little one?
you have graduated from your very Midwestern mullet and now can sport a tiny bun!
Here are your stats & some likes/dislikes
weight: 22 lbs
height: 34"
shoe size:5
Likes: painting & drawing, puzzles, going to Trader Joes (they have you smitten with their carts & stickers), cats, your cowboy boots, music ( you ask for us to put it on when we're in the car), kombucha, crafts, sandbox, jumping, dancing, summersaults
Dislikes: watching TV (you just dont care for it & rather do anything else), hair bows, being told what to do, getting splashed with water, strollers, trying new foods (frustrating one for mama)
How you spent your birthday:
The night before, we blew up a bunch of balloons and put them in your room when you went to sleep....you woke up one happy girl :)
You ate your breakfast of choice: banana
& we headed to dance class
(Daddy came too, he worked from home to spend the day with you)
After dance we went home and you opened a couple of presents that came in the mail from your Auntie & Grandma.
your favorite lunch - sunbutter & Jelly
and what kind of birthday would it be without your best little girlfriends??
you had a mini party there, the 3 of you danced your little tushies away...ate some yummy muffins and painted.
You got some birthday facetime calls from your sweet friends & family from far away...
All in all I think you had a pretty rockin day little lady :)
Here is a video recap:
Happy birthday my love.
Love,
Your very obviously proud and gushing with love Momma
"childhood is the most beautiful of life's seasons"

we're back! the blog hiatus wasn't intentional I promise, my 2 year old decided that she was no longer going to take naps which left this mama with no uninterrupted computer time. I have lots of entries in my drafts dating back to March so stay tuned I plan on catching up :)
