The biggest lesson I learned in my ONE year of mommyhood is being flexible, and no not yoga type of flexible.
Because motherhood sometimes is a cold hearted, well you know
and she will throw you a curve ball after a curve ball.
And just when you feel like breaking she will throw you another.
If you're not flexible you're screwed
I say screwed, but I really mean something else
It starts with an "F"
Because motherhood sometimes is a cold hearted, well you know
and she will throw you a curve ball after a curve ball.
And just when you feel like breaking she will throw you another.
Before Sienna was born, I had these grand plans of making baby food...breastfeeding like its a piece of cake...co sleeping? yeah right NEVER in my house. Eating everything organic...blah blah blah
I think back at these "fantasies" I had and laugh
Truth is no one can ever prepare you for motherhood. It's not possible
Because every ones experience is different
Every child is different
There are books, and mom friends,
I've had more than my share of 'humble pie' moments when it comes to motherhood! Great post Joanna:)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more!! Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeletelol chewing the food, I feel you on that one, & defiantely the high heels one. I feel crazy just putting on a bunch of a makeup and dress these days. I always have to take a picture when I'm super dressed up so I don't look like a slob when I look back on all the pictures!! haha, I need a babysitter when I get ready!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree with this more. Breastfeeding was way harder than I thought it would be and I hated how many people made me feel bad when it wasn’t working for us. We also currently co-sleep with our 14 month old daughter. It isn’t ideal but this way we are all happy and well rested so we make it work. I also try and look at the positive side and love the extra snuggles times with her because I know it won’t be long before she doesn’t want to sleep with us anymore. you’re doing great!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! I guess that's why they say "never say never" you just have to find what works for you and your baby!
ReplyDeleteWow I lie this! The list can go on and on...my worst lately is actually getting a potty break for Godssake! I feel ha everyone in my family would always tell me to let my baby cry it out, even if we have to re think in having a second child soon, I'd rather co-sleep than letting my child cry for so long!
ReplyDeleteU really hate your MIL
ReplyDeleteToday, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell
ReplyDeleteand gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had
to tell someone!
